Ferrari has officially unveiled the Ferrari Luce, the company’s first fully electric production car. Introduced in Rome on 25 May 2026, the Luce is not intended to replace Ferrari’s legendary V6, V8, or V12 models. Instead, it expands the brand’s lineup while demonstrating how electrification can enhance performance without abandoning Ferrari’s DNA.


Ferrari’s First Purpose-Built EV
Unlike many manufacturers that adapted existing platforms, Ferrari developed the Luce on a completely new electric architecture.
The car features four independently controlled electric motors, one at each wheel, producing a combined 1,050 cv. Performance remains worthy of the Prancing Horse:
- 0-100 km/h: 2.5 seconds
- 0-200 km/h: 6.8 seconds
- Top speed: Over 310 km/h
- Driving range: More than 530 km
Power comes from a 122 kWh battery using an 800-volt architecture, supporting DC fast charging up to 350 kW. Every major electric component was engineered and built by Ferrari in Maranello.
Technology Designed for Driver Engagement
Ferrari emphasizes that the Luce was developed to feel like a Ferrari rather than a typical electric vehicle.
A new Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) manages power delivery, torque vectoring, regenerative braking, steering, and suspension up to 200 times per second. Each wheel can independently control propulsion, steering, and vertical movement, providing exceptional precision and stability.
Instead of relying on artificial engine sounds, Ferrari created an authentic sound system that amplifies the real mechanical vibrations generated by the electric drivetrain. The result is a unique acoustic experience that changes naturally with driving conditions.
A Completely New Ferrari Design Language
The Ferrari Luce was designed in collaboration with LoveFrom, the creative collective led by Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson.
Its design focuses on simplicity and aerodynamic efficiency. A clean glass canopy, floating aerodynamic wings, transparent lighting elements, and distinctive halo taillights create a modern appearance while remaining unmistakably Ferrari.
The Luce also introduces the largest wheels ever fitted to a production Ferrari road car:

Ferrari’s Most Practical Road Car
The dedicated EV platform allows Ferrari to create something it has never offered before: a four-door, five-seat Ferrari.
The cabin combines premium leather, recycled aluminum, Gorilla Glass, mechanical controls, and digital displays into a minimalist interior. A 21-speaker, 3,000-watt Ferrari Audio Signature system completes the luxury experience.




More Than an Electric Ferrari
Perhaps the most important message behind the Luce is that Ferrari does not see electrification as a replacement for its traditional engines.

Instead, the company views electric technology as another way to deliver the performance, engineering excellence, and emotional driving experience that define the Ferrari brand. Rather than creating simply “an electric Ferrari,” the Luce establishes an entirely new chapter in Ferrari’s history while preserving the identity that has made the Prancing Horse one of the world’s most respected automotive manufacturers.
